Jonny setup and launched, he had no choice really or he would lose his #1 spot. There was no major concern with the towing operations, even though in the beginning there was some really strong wind.
The reason I did not launch was a mixture of the towing conditions, landing in such gusty conditions and the pretty strong possibility of a shit flight. Wind was 25knots at 4000 feet, and low cloudbase so it would be a struggle.I didn't feel like I had anything to gain except a few points, and that doesn't really concern me.
other non-flyers today included Atilla, Lukas and Gerolf.
It's ONLY 113kms today so they should be back early enough, especially in this wind!
So sorry, K. I've been traveling for work and am not supposed to surf on their computer, so I couldn't join in cheering you on for an entire week during a comp! Unforgivable. I'llquit my job if that ever happens again. LOL!
Glad to hear that you are having fun. Please, please, please do take the advice of others on hydration with utmost seriousness. And not to be too personal, but the nappy, too. Both of those problems are known to be culprits in many long-distance/time soaring accidents. I don't want to be arranging for a get-well gift and asking someone to sign your cast for me because you had a bad landing as a result of physical impairment or discomfort.
I got a kick out of you riding in the ute. I'll bet that made the farmer's day. At the dinner table that night, I can hear him telling his wife/family "You're not going to believe this, but an angel dropped right into our pasture (perhaps it's called a paddock in Oz :))today....." :)
Cheers!
